They say that when one door closes, another opens... It sure looks like that might be the case with our store. We close our doors for trading next weekend but we're going out with a bit of noise & wine. In other words, some great tunes with Midge McCleary, wine by Seresin Estate, beers by Renaissance & Kombucha by the locally famous Banjo Brews on April 1st, 6:30PM. All welcome!
It's Easter & Autumn is well on it's way. The smell of donuts is wafting into the store from Indulge next door. What a Summer it has been! We just wanted to do a quick recap on all that's been since we landed back on NZ soil last Spring.
December saw us open up our doors at 29 High Street, Picton, our home for the last few months. We were knocking up trestle tables, card racks, skateboard walls & scaffolding shelving & before we knew it, the shop formed - our first physical place to showcase our works in our hometown. We had some help from 2 very much loved UK interns, Greta & Wade (hopefully we'll be seeing much more of those two!) & a short stint with Visual Merchandising Whizz/Artist, Darelle Knight.
The store has evolved, adding Fix&Fogg Peanut Butter, Misprint Co. notebooks, Xavier Napoleon Leather, Jude Raffills Design & a fair few other hand-crafted, local & generally awesome things. We finally got to launch our new 'Black Dog' tee which will raise funds & awareness for those suffering mental illness, especially depression, the Black Dog which follows many of us.
Oh, but it's not all work! We got to go to Wellington to check out CNC Machines, drink coffee & sample peanut butter. We took a few days to hike the Queen Charlotte Track & last weekend, went kayaking down the Opawa River with Driftwood Ecotours. Oh, stunning Marlborough scenery, you're hard to beat.

So it all comes to an end, for now. We will miss this sunlit, glass-fronted quirky store where we've had some of the best months for our business but don't worry, this isn't a permanent shop closure, just a move toward something new. FRIDAY APRIL 1st, coinciding with our last day of Picton trading, is also the release date of our Wine-barrel board Kickstarter Campaign... More on this soon!
