'Drama Llama' was hand-painted by artist Monique Richards using acrylics on one of our in-house crafted macrocarpa art boards.

  • Dimensions: 190 x 760mm
  • 100% New Zealand made & sourced - Proudly handcrafted by us in our Mount Maunganui workshop from macrocarpa timber sourced from Marlborough.
  • High quality artwork - Each artist has finished the work to protect it & ensure longevity
  • Connect with the artist - The artists bio is laser etched onto the back of the board.
  • Easy to hang - Our boards are light and can be hung from a small nail, picture hook or screw. Each board comes complete with a wall-hanging fitting.
  • For each board sold a native tree is planted, helping to restore and maintain New Zealand's environment.

Monique Richards has been a long time collaborator with Paper Rain and loves to create cheeky humanised animal characters that invoke a sense of fun and humour. Drama Llama is a cheeky dude sure to add character to any room.

Crafted from sustainably and locally grown Macrocarpa, this board was designed and made by The Paper Rain Project in Marlborough, New Zealand.

This board is a wall-hanging artwork and comes equipped with a fitting suitable for a standard picture hook or nail.

For each sustainably-grown tree felled, an average of 200 native trees are planted in it’s place. Thank you for helping to regenerate native forests in New Zealand.

TREES THAT COUNT - Working with New Zealanders to plant millions more native trees.

Trees That Count loves trees. Not just any old trees though: Aotearoa’s special native trees. They are a conservation charity bringing together business, community and everyday Kiwis with the vision of helping plant 200 million native trees across the country.

Their aim is to make it easy for Kiwis to make a difference and plant millions more native trees through their community marketplace. This marketplace matches funded and gifted trees with worthwhile planting groups around the country.

That means that for every Paper Rain board you go home with, a New Zealand native tree is planted through Trees That Count on your behalf!

“Planting native trees is one of the most powerful actions we can take to combat climate change, protect our beautiful landscapes, waterways and forests for future generations.”

On behalf of our beautiful Aotearoa: Thank you!

A roaming artist raised on the streets of Stoke, both home & travel are close to Monique’s heart. For Mon, the pencil has taken over & she’s been creating a series of intricate and often humorous work. Living in Barcelona changed the direction of her art dramatically, seeing human faces replaced by lions and lightbulbs, and paper largely replacing canvas.

Monique can also been found prettying up local lane ways with her street art. She simply loves what she does, and her biggest problem is that she can’t draw, or paint, fast enough. A store favourite, Monique has painted several #oneofone board artworks with Paper Rain.
